A good compliment is succinct: It's positive, clear and friendly. The best compliments come naturally, flow easily, and hang in the air for a second before they're realised and accepted. There's that tiny pause before a smile.
Compliments are easy; simply say something nice and genuine. Say it gently and say it with enthusiasm.
When receiving a compliment, just smile, take a breath to take it in, and say, "Thank-you" (Or if your us, blush, get giddy and say, "Really?! Oh my gosh, thanks!"). There's no need to respond with a compliment, though if you have one and you mean it, say it. It's simply okay to say your thank you and go ahead and feel great about yourself for the rest of the day, or week. (Though, it's a funny thing about compliments, they tend to make both the giver and receiver feel great!)
We all benefit from someone noticing something about us. We can all use a little more brightness and a touch more attention. Let's all pay attention and say nice things to each other when we think of it.
