When I was younger, my mom told me an old wives' tale her grandmother had told her: If it snows on the 1st of May and you let the snow touch your face, you'll have clear skin forever. I did this. (Snow in May in Newfoundland isn't rare), and it worked, well, as much as it could have. We like to believe in the magic of old wives' tales. Harmony and folklore and all that. We also like easy DIYs.
So, we love this DIY tip from Colette Yeomans of Clarité Wellness. It's super easy and you probably have these things in your kitchen already.
Spot a spot? Give it one last chance with this concoction. A dash of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon at about a 2:1 ratio. Mix together to form a paste and apply to spots with a q-tip. Leave for a while (go watch an episode of Kimmy Schmidt or likewise) then rinse off and go to bed, or go on about your day. (You can leave it overnight, but it'll get onto your pillow so use one you don't care about). The honey is soothing and calming and the cinnamon is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.
There you go - spot free. No snow necessary!
