This is the very first beauty tip she taught us, and we still use it. Thanks Mom!
When we were little, watching our mom put on her lipstick was interrupted by cries of "Do me, do me!" and "I'm next!" She'd finish applying hers then reach down, tilt up our chins and put a little lipstick on us, reminding us not to pucker our lips too tight. Then, if we were looking a little pale, she'd dot our cheeks with a mark of lipstick and gently rub it in. School concerts, birthday parties, fancy dinners, she'd often call us over and whip out the lipstick. We loved it; the routine, the attention, her taking the time to make us feel special.
Fast forward a couple decades, and when we feel we could use a bit of colour, we reach into our purse and grab a lipstick, dotting our cheeks in the very same way she showed us. A quick blend and a smile and we're off with sweet memories of girl time with mom.
Have a lovely Mother's Day this weekend everyone!
