Our grandma on our Irish side was a woman full of joy and energy. Sometimes before bed or early in the morning, you'd find her fully clad in her PJs, doing her "exercises". She'd lay on her back on her bed and do the bicycle, stand up and touch her toes, or lean sideways hands on hips stretching it out, all as part of her simple routine of mini stretches and warm ups to get her circulation going. Today's tip is to do a mini workout from our sweet Gram.
We're busy, and we know you're busy too. For some of us, our busi-ness means we neglect things we "should" do (like exercise), for things we "have to do" (everything else). No matter, a 60 minute workout isn't the only way to feel more energetic. Just do a couple of little things; try a Mini Workout.
It's so easy. When you wake up you can do our favourite (and Gram's too): The bicycle. Then roll up out of bed slowly and do a couple of arm circles. Follow with a few head rolls and then jumping jacks or wall push ups. Stretch it out by touching your toes (or aiming for them) and then finish off with a big hug for yourself. Be gentle, this tip is meant to get you going, get the blood flowing, and get you remembering how great moving your bod can feel.
Now, 1-2-3 and bicycle!
