Ah, the spooley. It's that little thing that looks like/is your mascara wand. It's a little tool with a couple uses; the best being a little less obvious. This is the tool for grooming your brows. It works like an eyebrow brush – but better. Because of it's round, cylindrical shape, you can brush your brows upwards, smooth them into submission, and blend in any brow colour you've added, making things look pretty natural.
You can get one by saving the top of your mascara wand and giving it a good go over with some soap, or you can do what we do, and snag one from a Sephora testing station. (Best to buy something and then grab a couple). Sometimes, they come on the end of a brow tool. You can also buy a packet at beauty supply stores, which are mostly found in urban centres catering to makeup artists.
Having one of these in your beauty stash will solve some mini beauty issues, and make your beauty routine more simple. We like to use them once we apply brow shadow, then comb through hairs to blend and groom them into place. Also, after one application of mascara, simply comb through lashes before a second coat to push lashes into the correct position or to remove clumps. You can also use a spooley in a no-makeup routine just to get brow hairs and lashes on the up and up.
If we find ourselves in a city with only our dopp kit, we quickly run out to find a spooley and get things back to basics. It's a fun little tool that really helps - it's like a brush - but for the tiniest hairs you have on your face. Mini lady moustache? Ditto.
